Author: Elizabeth Brokamp
Available from Pelican, Amazon.com and your favorite bookseller.

"Adorable detailed illustrations featuring green little witches and many other fun features express and complement the bouncy verve and charm of the witty verse narrative of "Back to School, Picky Little Witch!" This is a perfect choice for kids ages 5-8 in grades K-3, at the season of preparation for the looming Back to Ghoul rush."

-----
The palette of Welling's line cartoons jars appropriately with sickly greens and purples. He includes glimpses of humor, as in his broom-filled parking lot at "Witches R Us."

 What's Up With This Chicken?
 Available September 2015

Picture
As families embrace the farm-to-table food movement, more and more people are housing chickens on their balconies and in their backyards. Children growing up in urban environments surrounded by rural animals experience both the benefits and humor of farm life. Chickens provide farm-fresh eggs year-round, but they can also be noisy and stubborn, just like Trudy. Sylvia has one moody chicken who will not give up her eggs! Exciting and entertaining illustrations accompany this informative story about one annoying chicken—why she is like that and how Sylvia, eventually, cheers her up! An author’s note introduces the reader to the real chicken that inspired this story.
 Author: Jane Sutton

"Peter J. Welling’s bright, homey illustrations are the perfect accompaniment to the story. Animated Trudy shoos Sylvia away while the other chickens take dust baths, scratch for bugs, and look just as perplexed as Sylvia and Grandma. Humorous touches abound in Grandma’s choice of home décor and Sylvia’s printed T-shirts as well as in the facial expressions of the human and feathered characters. Trudy’s chicks are adorable, and readers will cheer to see Trudy fulfill her heart’s desire."

Revenge of the Soccer Moms

Picture

Karma Kranski and the playgroup moms are fed up. Reckless drivers, teen sex predators, and an abusive pyromaniac are ruining their suburban paradise. The moms become suburban vigilantes with the best of intentions, but things go wrong. Like vandalized-car, exploding-lawnmower, castration-by-rusty-spoon wrong. Really, really wrong. But when Karma and her friends intercede to help an abused wife and accidentally kill her cheating husband, the 24-hour news media descends on their planned community. Now everybody is furious with them, except for the one person who should be--the grieving widow. Did she manipulate the moms into that final caper in order to collect on his insurance policy?
